Back by popular demand, Pi Sigma Epsilon, a Winona State University sales and marketing organization, is hosting a networking and beer-tasting event. Meet local professionals in the Winona area while sampling some specially selected beers from Betty Jo’s extensive collection. Your ticket awards you access to the networking event, six, three-ounce beer samples and hors d’oeuvres. Join us for an energetic, fun and productive time!
A series of YouTube videos, each one more precious than the last, paint Minneapolis Savannah Smith as a ukulele-slinging Jack Johnson disciple. But the seriousness Smith shows when performing her own songs, like the punchy Ventriloquism, nicely balances her jazz-informed cooing and displays a talent for lyrical density that raises her simple melodies.
Mike has been playing since the 1960’s. That’s right. A veteran of rock, country, and blues bands. Mike sat in Muddy Waters bedroom, had Buddy Guy show him around the blues clubs where Mighty Joe young among others were hanging out. The 1970’s found Mike playing folk gigs at places like the Fifth Peg and Orphans in Chicago, alongside guys like Steve Goodman and John Prine.
Winona State University, in partnership with FORGE, the Women’s and Gender Studies student club, and the Women’s Resource Center of Winona, will host Take Back the Night. The event focuses on eliminating sexual violence in all forms. Thousands of colleges, universities, women’s centers and rape crisis centers have sponsored these events all over the country. Winona State University is taking a stand against sexual violence and is speaking out for a violence-free campus and community.
