We are excited to have internationally renowned theater artist Lisa Wolpe (Shakespeare and the Alchemy of Gender, 2019 Front Porch series) joins the Festival to adapt and direct Shakespeare’s fierce and controversial play The Taming of the Shrew.

Gender-reversed and set in a music-filled saloon in the American West, this production flips convention to explore the complex dynamics of gender and power, marriage, and love, as Kat and Petruchia face off at high noon and gamble on a high stakes game of…Hearts.
