Comedian David Koechner

Actor, writer, and producer David Koechner grew up in Tipton, Missouri, where he worked in his family’s turkey coop manufacturing business. He studied political science at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, before transferring to the University of Missouri. After graduation, Koechner moved to Chicago to study improvisation at the iO Theater (formerly ImprovOlympic) under Del Close and Charna Halpern. He later joined the ensemble at Second City Theater Northwest.
