The Mid West Music Fest (MWMF) began in 2010 as a grassroots initiative by Sam Brown, an AmeriCorps member aiming to foster community through music here in Winona. Over the years, it has evolved into a prominent nonprofit festival that showcases a diverse array of regional artists across multiple venues in downtown Winona. With a mission to promote music and art, stimulate downtown economic development, and provide educational resources for artists and community members, MWMF has become a staple in the Driftless Region’s cultural landscape. Celebrating its 16th year, the fest continues to draw music enthusiasts eager to discover new talent and enjoy a vibrant, community-driven atmosphere.

And for each of the 16 years, KQAL has partnered with the MWMF to help create awareness and present a myriad of local and regional artists.

This year, we invite you down to the KQAL State at Peter Biergarten, Friday and Saturday, to witness great local and regional talent. Including Winona’s own Sugar Lads, Sheep for Wheat (Rochester), Yonder (Mpls), & The Lavender Project (La Crosse).
