2024 WSU International Music Series: Lyz Jaakola

Elizabeth “Lyz” Jaakola, an enrolled member of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe in Cloquet, MN, is a versatile musician, educator, and Native Nation Rebuilder. At Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College, she teaches Music, American Indian Studies, and Media Production. As a performer and composer, Lyz spans diverse genres, from traditional women’s hand drum circles to blues, jazz, and opera. All concerts are free, open to the public, and run for approximately 50 minutes, taking place on Thursdays at 6 pm in the DuFresne PAC Recital Hall.
