Join us for an artist reception with Minneapolis artist Venus DeMars. Venus is a musician, visual artist, writer, activist, and performer. Venus has been performing as a musician since the 80s and fronts the glam-punk band All the Pretty Horses. In addition to being an incredibly gifted visual and musical artist, Venus is a prominent figure in the LGBTQIA+ community and fought for her right to receive hormone therapy in the early 90s when gender-affirming and transgender healthcare was limited and few resources existed for transgender people. We’re grateful that Venus DeMars has offered to share her art and music with the Winona community and we hope that you’ll join us in welcoming her to Winona!
