To honor one of Winona’s most generous citizens, you’re invited to a community celebration at Windom Park, at the corner of Huff Street and Broadway. The event runs from 2 to 5:30 p.m. and features games, food, and tables with information on John Latsch, outdoor recreation, conservation, and cultural opportunities in the Winona area.
Just across the way at the Latsch and Son building, volunteers will offer short tours about Latsch’s life, and the Winona County History Center will present a special display.
John Latsch left a remarkable legacy, donating nearly 18,000 acres of land in Minnesota and Wisconsin to preserve public access to the region’s natural beauty. Come celebrate the man who helped ensure we can all enjoy the outdoors today.
