Sarah Ghazal Ali, a young American poet with Pakistani roots, has quickly distinguished herself with a series of major literary honors. Her debut poetry collection, Theophanies, won both the GLCA New Writers Award and the California Book Award, and was also a finalist for the 2024 Society of Midland Authors Award and the Kate Tufts Discovery Award.
In addition to these accolades, she has earned several prestigious fellowships and currently serves as Poetry Editor for West Branch, the literary magazine of Bucknell University in Pennsylvania.
