This Week: Kelley Smith – Minnesota songwriter Kelley Smith writes songs like pressed flowers tucked inside a well worn book. Whimsical and a little haunted, her wry lyrics and time traveler voice carry echoes of north country woods where she grew up wandering.

Since 2022, she has shared stages with Charlie Parr, Kelly Hunt, Wild Horses, Dave Simonett, and Alan Sparhawk. Sometimes you will still find her in a corner dive bar, banjo in hand, spinning old folk songs into something quietly spellbinding.

Needless to say, but Mike Munson is most comfortable with a guitar in his hands. With a reverence for the history of American music his songs demonstrate his own evolution as a performer and his deep attachment to place. His sound explores the connections between blues, American primitive instrumentals and early rock and roll.
