Owl Prowl

The International Owl Center offers an “Owl Prowl” program designed to help participants discover local owl species.

Program Highlights
– Location: Houston area
– Duration: 2.5-3 hours
– Focus: Identifying owls by size, shape, silhouette, and sound

Program Structure
– First 30-45 minutes: Indoor learning session
– Outdoor expedition: Drive to 3-4 owl territories within 10 miles of Houston
– Owl species to identify: Eastern Screech-Owls, Barred Owls, Great Horned Owls

Important Guidelines
– Dress appropriately for the weather
– Wear quiet clothing
– Minimal walking required
– Children must be able to stand quietly
– No pets, smoking, or vaping allowed

The program aims to help participants learn about local owl species through an interactive, educational experience.
