The 100 Mile Garage Sale turns the Great River corridor into a bargain hunter’s playground, as attics, garages, and basements are flung open in a collective hunt for second lives and great deals. Start anywhere along the river road, Minnesota or Wisconsin, rain or shine, and follow the finds.

On the Minnesota side, the sale runs from Winona up to Hastings. Cross the river and you’ll find it stretching from Fountain City to Prescott in Wisconsin. Thousands of sellers take part, from individual households to entire neighborhoods that transform into open-air markets.

No official maps, no rigid routes. Just watch for the telltale signs: balloons bobbing, ribbons fluttering, hand-painted arrows pointing the way. Half the fun is the discovery.
